The Milk - (All I Wanted Was) Danger Single Review

I was just looking for some new music to listen to when I came across this song. I listened to the preview and I instantly fell in love with it. This is what happens when you are looking for new music and you come across random new music such as The Milk!

This is such a happy song, even if it is about wanting some danger in your life. The lyrics are absolutely amazing, and even if they are telling a story about getting up and going and wanting some excitement in their life, it sounds a happy and chirpy song because of the melody of the song is just one of them songs that would instantly get you in a happy mood and in a dancing mood, my head is bopping along whilst I am writing this!

"If life is a bullet, you better get up and bite it." - My favourite line in the whole song. Sums up the song in one line. I freaking love it, it just instantly gets me in a good mood, the trumpets at the start with the drum have gotton into my ears, taking over my head as it starts bopping along to the singer's vocals.

I love the arrangement of the song. It has a mixture of genre elements, it kind of reminds me of something you would hear back in the 60s/70s, and then the drum beats and guitar skills give it a modern twist, as well as the singer's vocals and the tone to his voice. Then there's the choir to give it some power as backing vocals! It just has everything you want from such a happy song!

I definitely recommend you download this song - Its so good, and will get you in a good mood within the first minute of the song!

Lasko Ft Jimmy Snookz - The Neighbourhood Review

'Lasko Ft Jimmy Snookz - The Neighbourhood' is a new song rapped by upcoming Lasko aged 24 from North London, another good rapper that is battling to get themselves out there to achieve their dream of wanting to become a Hip-Hop Star.

Normally I would not be interested in reviewing this type of song because it is about a depressing topic, but listening to the way Lasko raps and puts meaning behind what he is rapping about made me be able to listen to the song in full.

This song made me think that it maybe could maybe be used with campaigning about youth crime, knife crime, campaigning that it’s not all just young people, but this kind of music to me is a 50/50 thing. Sometimes it can blow me away and I can love it because of how good the person is at rapping, but it’s just the topics that sometimes throw me from liking rap music.

I am still looking for that rapper or Hip-Hop star that blows me away with rapping about something completely different to all the negative stuff that is normally stereotyped around rap music. I need to find that one person that can rap about positive topics, not just about bad times but good times.

The only person that I have found that may relate to this is JaDee.

I do like Lasko's song and it's really good - if you are looking to go down the stereotypical rapper genre route.

Some people may think different to me, here's the link to Lasko's video:

JaDee: New Single: Its Over Review (Freestyle):

'It's Over' is Gloucester's own JaDee's new single free to download from his Sound Cloud (link below). JaDee is one of them rapper's that I can actually listen to, whereas others I can't listen to their music fully! So well done JaDee for being that guy!

The vibe that I get from 'It's Over' to me is JaDee saying: 'This is me and I won't be giving up until I get where I want to be so you can say what you want, it won't affect me' and this is what I love about him, you can see that he has the passion of wanting to become the next Hip Hop Star and get somewhere in life with his music.

The backing track has one of them 'I'm back and this is where I'm staying' kind of feels to it, which definitely is putting across where JaDee wants to be and is staying there no matter what, he will fight to stay up there being known for what he does best.

In a previous post where I reviewed a rapper and his EP, I said I was looking for a rapper who is not part of the stereotypical rap song group, JaDee is 100% not part of this group, he raps differently from them, his songs are totally different to them, and his songs have a positive feel about them rather than some that go with the stereotype sound all down and depressing.

JaDee is bringing something totally new and modern to the Hip-Hop/Rap music industry, and I'm liking it!I cannot wait to hear the album!

Profile Piece on JaDee (University Assessment Piece)

Jason David Boardman also known as JaDee, has been picked up by BBC Introducing as one of the South West's best rappers. The 23 year old started producing his own music in 2005 and developed into a songwriter in 2009, he is now smashing his way into the music industry and fulfilling his dreams.

JaDee was born on July 7th, 1989 in Gloucester. He grew up with his mother, brother and stepfather; whilst his father was absent most of his life. He was an angry teenager struggling with his emotions and battling with constant arguments within the family.
Despite this, it is his mum he has to thank for giving him the push to create demos and send them off to record labels: “I’ve never had anything BUT support, everybody is involved. Originally, it was my mum who gave me the name JaDee, and was telling me I should pursue music but I didn’t listen until I was in my late teens!” he explained.
Music was his passion from an early age. At the age of nine, his mother bought him a keyboard to practice on. He would then spend hours learning to create songs. As a teenager, his stepfather introduced him to a music creating software that would allow him to put unique beats together. “The most important thing is to be yourself.” JaDee said. “Although its said so much, so many artists forget that and a lot of music out there is so 'samey' and cheap.”
His inspiration came from 90’s rapper The Game: “It was just his attitude and dedication to doing his own thing that got my attention, he puts out great music because its his own and isn’t bothered on whether it sells one copy or one million and I respect that.” JaDee explained.
Going to battle raps is what made JaDee fall in love with rap music. He used to watch and admire the rappers, until one day he decided to give it a shot in a battle, and to his surprise, he won it. From then on, he’s been gripped by Hip Hop music and this was his way of channelling his emotions when he felt angry or upset.

Having the chance to show off his music in front of a variety of celebrities such as: Tinchy Stryder, Labrinth, Calvin Harris, Mark Ronson and DJ Westwood has been a highlight in his career so far: “Just for these people to know my name means the world to me.” He said with a smile on his face.

All the hard work has paid off and JaDee has become a definite one to watch in the future of the Hip/Hop/Rap industry. “Do not ever give up! Even if nobody believes in you, make that your drive to prove to them all you're worth more than they think. Work everyday at it, if its what you want to do and you think its who you are, you wont take time off – because you can’t take time off being you!” JaDee said passionately.

Look out for JaDee's fourth single 'Big Things' out January 2013 and his first album “The Soundtrack” also out during the first quarter of 2013!

Bingo Players featuring Far East Movement - Rattle/Get Up Review

Get Up - Bingo Players Featuring Far East Movement:

This foursome from different parts of the USA is back with a ground-breaking collaboration with Bingo Players featuring on their party anthem that is 'Rattle'. This song is guaranteed to get you in the party spirit no matter what mood you are in or where ever you are in the world. These guys are good at what they do, which is getting a song and making it an absolute party banger.

What Is It Like?

Seriously. Before I even knew about this collaboration, I loved the original version by Bingo Players (Rattle), but when I heard this version on my favourite radio station, I instantly fell in love with it. It starts with the annoyingly addictive tune that gets stuck in your head that is from the original and is whistled throughout this version. Then Far East Movement's rapping over the top just completes the song perfectly.

It's like this song was made for them to rap over the top to again make it even more of a party anthem than it already was. The two go together without any clashes whatsoever. Hearing this through some speakers in a club for example and having the bass go through you is such an amazing feeling. Cue the bass drop and rave on!

What’s The Verdict?

This is a song that needs to be on your party tunes list if you have one for getting ready for a night out. An absolute tune that gets me in the party mood no matter how I am feeling. 5/5.
